IC pipe polishing

Whats the best way to shine up my IC pipes. I bought a universal kit and after cutting and handling them with greasy hands they are pretty scuffed up and dirty. I have a metal polishing ("grade 00"), but its only really taking off grease prints and adding lighter scratches. Any ideas?

I did mine with a buffing wheel on my grinder along with some aluminum polish.

what kind of metal are they first off? start on the rough side of things and work in to that 00. try some paint thinner to take out grease and all. an old towel works well. check out the polishing thread over on SF (if it ever decides to start working again....)
