Hey guys so i bought a MK3 supra last year off the original owner who drove it off the lot for 4000 and now I thinking about selling it. I have no clue the value of the car and KBB doesnt go far back for classic cars. Where should I start? Here is some info on it and pics
1987
83,000 Miles
i'm the second owner
It was garaged every winter until this winter
Everything is original in it nothing pimped out.
Its the stock version not turbo
2 tone Brown and Beige with tan interior
5 speed manual
replaced power steering line this year but other than that no issues

Those price guides are to get you to pay as much as possible. The selling price is whatever you can sell it to somebody else for.

How are the tires on it? Any rust? Any paint issues other then the bumpers? I can see that the interior is a little worn looking, but not too bad. If there isn't any rust, the tires are decent, and all the exterior really needs is a cleaning/respray on the bumpers I would list it for $5-6k and see how it goes. You can always lower the price if needed. That's a fairly rare car there, 2 Owner, 83k original miles, and the two tone brown isn't very common.

I have to disagree with the price guides. They aren't accurate at all when you start looking at older cars either. Around here they are more like a minimum price as well. For example when you look up my 4Runner it shows it as being valued somewhere around $5k, but when you look at what is for sale $5k gets you a ratty torn up high mileage one that hasn't been taken care of, while mine is super clean. Not sure if this is true elsewhere in the country, but it has been the trend here as of lately.

Also, OP when you go to sell the car do yourself a favor and post an ad with good grammar, describe the car well, and take some more "flattering" photos of it all cleaned up and such. This helps so much when you are selling a car, and it seems to be an art form that most people do not know how to do...

Oops worded that wrong I bought it off the guy who bought it from Toyota in 1987. I paid 4000 for it. And yea there is no visable rust at all and paint it great other than the faded bumpers. The front tires have good tread and I replaced the back 2 a few months ago and prob have drove 100 miles on them. The interior has very little wear and no stains. Thanks for the advice! I will take some better pictures :)

Imho it depends on where you live as well, the price of our cars, at least where I live in Canada, tends to fluctuate quite a bit. I paid 4000 for my mostly stock manual turbo 87 with zero rust but faded paint a couple years ago, but since then the average price has gone down a bit. In Montreal Canada, a 25+ year old car never winter driven with zero rust would cost a little more than the same car somewhere that does not have winters. All in all, its all fine and dandy to get a quote from one of us, but when it comes down to it, someone here may say $xxxx but based on his location, but not yours.

You can't sell it here until you've been a member for six months or have 50 posts. Maybe you know this already and thought this would be a clever way to sell it without meeting the requirements.
It's only worth what someone is willing to pay as long as you don't think it's worth more. For a brown, non turbo'd 87, I'd never pay more than 2500.00 but only because I hate brown, I love a targa top, and I love a turbo.

Everyone keeps telling me that haha. I got it last year not knowing anything about it and just getting it to have a car but I cannot learn standard for the life of me so I really need to switch to an automatic

Please, have some decency, remain calm and DO NOT sell that Supra. Take the time to learn the essentials....with practice, a manual transmission will become second nature.
