Just a question for those who have weighed there supras. I would like to see how heavy the various trim levels are of the supra! So post your car's weight, year, what options it has, roof (targa, factory sunroof, dealer installed, or hard top) and what motor and transmission! Also, please mention anything you have done to remove weight from the car. Aswell, post if you have any added weight, such as a custom stereo equipment, or added body kit etc etc.

Just follow the template!

Year: 1988
Engine: 7m-gte
Tranny: w58
Options: Base (cloth seats, no tems, no abs, no airbags etc etc)
Roof: Hardtop
Body: Stock
Weight Reduction: Nothing
Added Weight: Nothing

Weight: Just under 3400lbs w/ half tank of gas (1514kg to be exact)

honestly I was shocked, it makes me want to start taking weight out of it... maybe I will if I pick up a targa supra... but for now the entire interior is untouched.

yup I was shocked, start out as an N/A chasis, but I doubt that has anything to do with it. I think it would be a good car to start cutting weight out of, since it's fairly light to begin with. I'm thinking carbon hood, lighter exhaust system, lightweight wheels, rear seat delete, remove sound material... and pick up a nice 91-92 targa for comfort cruising in.

Who knows, maybe get er under 3300lbs while still keeping the stock interior... but man, with the 4.30lsd in the back of this thing it sure is fun!

Ill post the weight of the frame alone when I have it recycled here pretty soon.

I got mine corner weighed at the race track. They have the scales there to check weight requirements for competition cars, however, if you ask they will probably weigh you in as well.

~3500-3850 lbs does not sound that heavy compared to some current vehicles with similar or better performance ratings. bmw 335i ~3582 lbs, mkv VW gti ~ 3300 lbs, nissan 350z ~3353 lbs, lexus is350 ~3527.
