How long should a headgasket last if done right?

im planing on getting another cressy. I will replace the headgasket once i get just for peace of mind. If i get the toyota gasket kit or the victor rienz kit and buy arp studs how long should it last me? 5, 10 years? maybe a lifetime?

But since im running low on cash i will only get the cylinder head rebuilt. My previous 7m i had i got both the block and the head re-sufaced, it lasted me over 7 years and 150k and was still running strong until i crashed it.

No way to tell. Could be a couple months could be couple years.

a stock head gasket torqued to proper spec should last the life of the vehicle, or until you overheat and blow something...

I have had a few 7Ms that ran up to 200k at 58lb/ft and never failed. Including running hard for long stretches. As mentioned, don't drain your coolant unless you refill.
