I've been told that all skylines have been legalized...any truth?
Ok I hate to say something I am not 100% sure on but, I remember reading an article about motorex. They were the company that began importing skylines into the states. They shut down some years back and only the skylines that were imported through motorex were legalized. According to 0-60 mag. No other skyline has been imported to the us since ( legally that is, again according to 0-60 mag.)

very wrong. there is a guy in hickory, NC that has been importing them for years (they are imported in cargo containers. the drivetrains are removed and shipped sepperate, and the chassis are shipped sepperate as well) this guy i'm speaking of is a construction contractor, and all he does is collect cars.... all sorts of cars. he also sells and trades these vehicles, so if anyone wants to get a hold of a legallized skyline with a legal title (r32, r33, r34) let me know. I have the guy's contact info... just wish i had $$$ to buy a skyline (he wasn't specific, but he said he'd sell the r32's and r33's for 13,000-19,000 depending on model. I don't really know about r34's

My next car will be an R32.. I have a ton of parts to go onto this car, but no time to put them on :(.

I do love going through all the drive-thru's backwards tho. The employees always get a laugh.

yep, i'd be forced to buy a r32... they're just too badass, my second pick would be r34, but i like cars from the same time period as the mk3 supra's.... i've actually been pondering getting a merc. 190E and dropping a 7mgte in :evil2:

what are your plans, btw, for this s13?

My plans are to keep it mild and enjoy it.

Boost controller, exhaust, tune, and wheels will hold me over for a very long time.

After that I will probably do a steering wheel, and seat.

Final stage, if I go this far, would be a setup with walbro, 550cc injectors, AFPR, GT28R(S?), and Z32 MAF. I believe with myself tuning, and not someone else's 'off the shelf' map like everyone else has, I should be able to squeeze out some pretty decent numbers.

Kind of curious. How is it that he brings them to us specs to get them legalized. Motorex had to do some modifications to the car such as adding three catalytic converters. They also had to bring the side door bar down to pass the crash safety requirements. Good price on the r32's and r33's I might have to pick one up in the near future.

to be honest i have no idea how, exactly, he goes about having them legalized, but i know it's a very extensive process which, i'm sure includes what you just mentioned. i guess you should pm me in the future if you want to get ahold of one, and i'll shoot you the guy's contact info.

Legalization would be crazy expensive.

It's funny how much of the PS13 is DOT approved. My car is no more illegal than a Silvia front 240 in that aspect :)
