Hey guys, I finally got around to replacing my hood struts about 2 months ago, with the following part:

MONROE Part # 901206

Last weekend I filled up with gas, and my hood won't stay up anymore. I did notice a few days before that, when messing around under the hood, when I closed it, I heard a 'hissing' sound from the driver side lift support... Is this a common problem with Monroe, or did I just get a dud (or two)?

I put a pair of Monroe's on the Expedition. That's a big ass heavy hood and they're doing fine months later - I suspect you just got a dud.

I'm certainly not doubting that they're a good strut, with both attached they damn near take the hood out of your hands if you're not prepared (when raising the hood)... Must just be a dud. Seems I'll get to test their customer service here soon... I'll let you guys know how that goes. :)

I got my hood & hatch struts from RA and no issues. Its been a few months and ive been opening and closing them both fixing my supra LOL

Which ones did you get? Heard one of the hatch ones leaking out last night, seems like Monroe just might not like our pig cars much.
