I have been having a similar problem. Just had my motor rebuilt, and it was ready to start. Added coolant and found a leak. I have torn apart part of my engine to locate the leak with no success. Water is running right along where the head and the block mates. Waited for a week for new crush washers for the banjo fitting. That didnt fix it, so I ordered more. A week later I am still having the same problem. I have checked the back of the head with a mirror and even removed the egr cooler. I am baffled as to where this leak is coming from. I hope my motor doesnt have to come back out.

Check the lines coming off the hard line going around the block in the driver's side. There's a small line that routes up to the throttle body and ISC valve, then returns to a nipple on the lower intake manifold (between the #1 & #2 runners I think).

These lines can leak making it very hard to see and the nipple in the lower intake has to seal against the head. The coolant can leak down to the head and follow the HG "groove" to the back of the motor...foward air flow helps it do that too ;)

I was thinking about this spot last night, Jdub. I was a bit skeptical that it could run from the front of the motor, around the back, and then back up the block and drip around the #6 cylinder on the exhaust side. Its definitely worth a look though. I am praying that is whats causing it. I just dont see a new mhg leaking. Off with the intake side after class.:nono:

think ya got it, i have zero time to check as of now, and wish i could to confirm. But i also just started getting a whistle like sound from engine (sounds kinda like a fluttering bov). No coolant leaked, but hoping its not related to the coolant leak from before.
