1.we shim over buckets is what we have in the 1jz???
2.Do they go bad & sound like a bad lifter???

I'm asking this cause around 3k rpms sounds like a DSM with bad lifters
then it goes away around 3500-4000 rpms, please i need some input.

They don't go "bad", but on high mile motors things wear out and the motor makes the usual lifter tapping noise. Don't believe for minute that all JDM motors are 30k.

Pull off the valve covers and with a feeler gauge see what the gaps are, they spec the same as a 2jzgte. You can get shims from a 2jzgte or yamaha r1. Taking off the cams isn't hard, might as well change the timing belt while your at it.

Yeah it has a ticking noise when i free rev it, or if i low throttle the car around 3k rpms you can hear the ticking, plus there a little loud if i rev it with the hood open, there is no lack of power though.

The timing belt & all the gaskets are new, if am gonna have to pull the cams out, I might just buy some cams, Anyone lives close to chicago that can help me install the cams????
