having a bad run of luck....need to vent!

Let's go Pens!!
I've had my 87 for 3 years now, I have really enjoyed it. It is in really great shape, the underneath is like new, which is rare in this part of the country. In three years I have had never a single problem. My brother-in-law and I painted it 2 summers ago just to make it prettier! Well now I'm frustrated and just want to vent a little. As I filled the tank for the last time last fall before storing it for winter, it developed a gas leak at the drivers side seam of the tank. Oh well, I thought, I'll deal with it in the spring (it still hold 3/4 tank). So spring is here, I found a tank for $60 in nice shape at a small local junk yard (really just a guy with a lot of crap laying around, including a few cars). So I go to pick it up on the day he said to come, it's not out of the car and he doesn't answer his door. *sigh* I'll come back. So then my battery is dead, no biggee, I charged it up, and presto! now for the first time since I bought it, it refuses to start...cranks great but no start. It has ALWAYS started instantly. So I gotta run down the problem, still do the gas tank, and then buy tires to get it inspected because it lapsed last October. I didn't want to put tires on it to have it sit all winter. Anyway, sorry for the long post...I just wanted to get rid of some frustration, and maybe spouting off will change my karma **Phew** Thanks

Well how about driving your car home, smelling something a little funny,(immediately start checking gauges) oil is good, temp looks ok. Wait! my car is all of a sudden running rich. I turn down my street and the car is rattling like crazy. I pulled in the driveway only to find steam pouring out of the engine bay and just hear popping noises. Of course I couldn't eat dinner because I felt sick at my stomach. I woke up this morning and I had NO coolant in the car. I started filling the radiator and started hearing water pouring on the ground. I looked and what do you know a freeze/core plug (over the oil pressure sending unit) either fell out or blew out. I thought my engine was ruined. I popped in a new plug and got it running today. Right now I'm glad a used all forged internals..

Sorry to Hijack but I also needed to vent. Just hang with it and you will get it worked out.

LOL. I installed the 60 trim once, but never got around to it the second time. Check out my sort-of-build link in my sig. I don't update it anymore, as I have lots of secrets, but it'll give you an idea. :)
