Thanks for the info bro, i'm really starting to gain interest in a pair of cams.

Lets see. :naughty:

Seeing what AnnoyingRob said I wouldn't go pass a 62mm, look into a GT35 as Suprahero is running, A 61mm from Precision DBB or not or a 62mm from Borg Warner. You can also look at a GT4082, Drewgo runs that. A 4082 has a 58mm compressor wheel.

You can take all this info and throw it out the door if you want because lag is OVERATED! :naughty: I can care less about lag and the pulls I had in my buddy's T78(66mm comp wheel) 1JZ made me throw that mentality even more farther away. :icon_bigg That's an old 67 too, I wonder how better he'll spoolup if he runs a newer one like a T04Z/T67 DBB P Trim or a Borg Warner S366, decisions decisions, I would stick with the original turbo suggested if you want fast spool and a good powerband.

As stated, I run the Garrett gt35r and the 543 was with 93 octane mixed with five gallons of 110 race gas. It was probably mixed about six to five. I had maybe a little more than five gallons of 93 in my car already and then added the five gallons of race gas. The 543 was made at 24psi. and it still never quit climbing. I've never dyno'd my 1j where it leveled off yet. I always quit at about 7300rpm though and it's still pulling.

What's the a/r on your GT35R Suprahero? I'm gunning that it's T4 flange as well, where did you get it from?

Also, a distributer for Precision told me earlier today that the sc61(ball bearing) is the same as the gt35r, true story?

Mine is a T3flange with a .70ar and that's basically all I know about my turbo. I bought it as a kit from www.driftmotion.com when I bought the 1jz clip from him. I love everything about it. Once I put the 2jz bottom end under my 1jz head, I'll be spooling up even quicker and with a little more authority. I can't wait. Z06's beware.

The safc just will not handle the 680's, we've been at it for weeks and it just will not tune!

My mechanic and the tuner did a car a few weeks ago setup on 680's, and he was tuning with safc.

car made 590rwhp iirc and had a lot more room to go but the owner didn't want to push it..Drewgo was there and knows the person.

My mechanic did Happy's car, and Smileys car. Also iirc Smiley's Supra is at 1krwhp and tuning with an safc2

i'm in south florida, home of the high hp 1j's :biglaugh:

i have a blitz access ecu that would suit your needs perfectly. It's tuned for 550's, and has an 8k rpm revlimit. LMK if you want it.

Interesting! I thought it was a T4 flanged GT35R, and when you state it has a .70 a/r, I think you mean that's the compressor a/r (stamped on the compressor itself) and not the turbine a/r ratio. T3's come in .63, .82 and 1.06 a/r and I've seen T4 GT35's come in .63 and .82 a/r. All GT35's have a .70 compressor a/r standard so I think that's what you're referring to. We still need that turbine a/r then..:naughty:

I am running 550cc, walbro fuel, Aeromotive FPR. @ 23psi I am at 468. And yes an SAFC2 can tuned 680cc's. It's pushing the envelope, in theory, but it can. Timing was not an issue but it also has to do with location. Perhaps at different altitudes timing becomes an issue where the ecu will adjust to keep the engine safe. That's just a thought but can be considered. Here I hit 485 @ 24psi. My timing is great and I get 23-25mpg average. I don't baby it, 1jzsc4 can attest to my spirited driving. Alot of people are limiting the SAFCs potential because of popularity in other fuel management systems. Not sure why ppl can't make power with it but I've never had a problem making power. I hit it on the nail every time.
The 590 that 1jzsc4 was mentioning on an SAFC2. The customer is still driving the car today as a daily driver, in fact his son drives it now and I know he is not babying it cuz he kill the right rear studs on his tires. And ended back at the shop so KSPerformance can replace them.

Drewgo, what's the a/r on your GT4082 and when exactly does it come on and really hit hard? Are cams on your car yet? 23-25mpg average is awesome, how's highway cruising looking like?

.68 a/r
depends on the gear:
2nd- 3k & Full boost @ 4200 (23psi)
3rd- 2800 & full boost @ 3900-4000
4rd 2500 & full boost by 3800.

No Cams

I got 4.08 final drive with 19" tires. At 90 I am at 3700rpm.
Most of my driving is hwy.

BTW, that 590rwhp 1jz we were talking about earlier in the thread, had OEM 1jz cams.

You daily drive your car at 23psi? I was scared to turn my boost up past 18psi with 93 octane even though my AFR's are perfect. Do you have a device that picks up detonation? I would like to install something like that on mine since I don't have the knock sensor anymore.

I don't know why the SAFC wouldn't work on mine. The tuner using it had used it on a few cars prior to mine, but it just wouldn't make power and it always ran rich. It couldn't pull enough fuel out. I don't miss it though.

Pulls hard looking at your dyno graphs!I bet it will wake up even more with some aftermarket cams. The 4082 seems awfully streetable and I bet it's up there with the GT35R as street turbo choices.
