ok i have been having a problem with my car not driving and idling right, so i checked my codes and it gave me a code for my afm so i went and got a new one and reset the ecu and it idled and drove right for a second and then went back to not idling or running right. and i am still getting codes 24, 31, and 51. what could my problem be. any help will be greatly appreciated, i have been trying to figure out this problem for quite some time now. thanks in advance

You get codes because the ECU is not seeing the correct signal it expects, not becuase a component has failed.

Not to say a failed component won't store a hard fault.

I could guess that with two air flow meter codes, you do not have a good power source to the meter.

Yeah what Nick M said!.. That 51 is probably an adjustment issue. Search the forum for adjusting the TPS. Be prepared there are a lot of post but plenty of instructions. TSRM might be faster!

Most likely.

When you come across the terminal repair kit, use good crimpers.

Go to the parts counter at Toyota and ask him. He might tell you Toyota, and that it isn't available to you. Ask Jeff Lange, I think he said he is sitting behind the counter.

trace the harness back from the afm plug, and look for any damge,

you may have such corrided wire it finaly gave it's ghost, but i doubt that, you just haven't found the source of your problem.

buy a dvm and start checking continuity and resistence.. perfeibly from ecu pin (while it's on) and to the afm plug.

you could also test for voltage and see if the afm is sending the right signal to begin with. and to check to see if thw ecu is sending a 5v signal to the afm.

ok i finally got my car to run again. all i needed was a new wiring harness throttlebody tps and coolant temp sensor. got all of these parts in last night within 3 hours. it took me 3 hours to take out the old harness remove all the necessary intake pipes, throttle body, upper intake manifold, old wiring harness, temp sensor, and i even romoved the fuel rail and changed out my fuel injectors, and put all the stuff back in its original place. i started at 8:00pm and finished at 11:00pm. and the thing that makes me proud is i took out and replaced all these parts all by myself. i appreciate everyones help, i could not of figured out the problems if it wasnt for my fellow supra owners.
but the car seems like it could run better, but i'll worry about that later, have to get a couple of kinks out of it, but im just glad its running.
