So I was a little bored and needing something to do while I was waiting for all my parts to get to me for my build and this was the outcome of my boredom. What do you think.

that silver v8 with the blue light would make a killer coffee table/conversation piece.
Are those regular neons or cold cathodes?

Out of curiosity how much is the glass costing ya? I've thought about making one of these for myself along with a dining room table with a glass top and camshafts for legs.
Camshafts for a dining room table's legs? How big is the engine you're getting those from? :aigo:

OP, I dig it man, those would make some awesome decorative pieces for around the house...

The glass was different prices considering that I had to get them cut to the size of the blocks. Ranging anywhere from 60 to 130

What are all the blocks you used?

The blocks that were used were 7m x2 one mustang block and a chevy block

I agree and thank you and that is all they are now instead of have a big scrap heap in the back or selling it off to a scrap yard for nothing make a good use out of them to get a bit of time out of them and who knows maybe later on make a little money on them as well. Starting on lamps now to sit on them.

I'm sure you could make a few bucks on them, sell them at car shows or swap meets if you have that sort of thing in your area. Hot rod crowds would probably eat this stuff up. Convincing the wives that it was a cool idea though, might be tough.

What do you figure your cost is to make one of these? I figure you'd have the cost of the block (junkyard engines are easy to come by), chemicals to clean it, the lights, and the glass, plus maybe a bit of hardware/welding to keep it stable... Might have to make one of these myself someday.

Where I am overseas right not what really gets me is sourcing the parts on the economy because the usd is kind weak to the pound so that plays a big factor in it. In the v8 block and the 7m block with the green lights I have over 1000 usd in them so that is a round about figure for you.

Don't mean to rain on your parade, but I have a hard time seeing anyone spending that much on something like this. I wouldn't know for certain (art is funny that way...), but I'd be surprised if you'd find many buyers, unless you are REALLY good at marketing them. :p
