Free play in steering wheel

Is anyone having any free play in the steering wheel? Not sure it is due to the engine swap and having a different power steering pump on it.

Neither of those put play in the wheel. Check your tie rods.

The rubber rack mount grommets could be worn which really shows up when cornering.

Did you use your old steering column shaft (in the engine bay)? There's a ujoint on that arm that might have slop in it.

There's also a Slip joint in the shaft so it can collapse in an accident, they're plastic lined and can have play in them..
