Formatted Jump Drive? (WINXP HOME INSTALL)

Happy thanks-giving!


While visiting family I agreed to reformat my sister's computer... the only files she wanted to keep were 1.5GB of pictures.

I copied the files onto my jump drive and left it plugged into her machine. After re-installing the OS, I noticed I never took out the jump drive... now it appears everything on it as well has been formatted!


I never would have thought it would format a USB peripheral as well....

Am I shit out of luck, or is there anything I can do...?

You're pretty much out of luck.. You probably accidentally formatted the drive, they usually show up on the list along with the other hard drives.

You're screwed, you accidentally your jumpdrive. I learned that one the hard way myself.

(now and again I get it horribly wrong it's an old age thing and the drives being listed different in DoS due to the hardware Raid controller)

That download is a "Demo" and only allows extracting of 4 folders per session... so if you have more, you'll have to restart the program or enter a valid activation code.

This software saved my butt tonight... I had an assembly and 2 drawings I needed for monday, and I was about 5 mins from cutting my vacation short to head back home to work on them.

go download a program called recover 4 all. it should get some stuff back
