5w30 synthetic is just about perfect for a 2JZ-GE. If you run something high quality like German Castrol, AMSOil, Royal Purple or Redline, you should be able to do a filter only change at 4,000 and run the oil for 8,000 easily.

So I posted on supra forums also, and the first reply was 10w30...

And your point? You asked a question I answered it. If you're doubting the veracity of what you're hearing, I'd suggest you read the stickies in this section, specifically:

http://www.supramania.com/forums/sh...il-Basics-Reading-a-Data-Sheet-and-Synthetics

http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?46094-Viscosity-Of-Common-Oils-Chart

and then you'll have some basic knowledge and can develop your own answer and/or select the answer you think is correct.

I appreciate your help, and i am gonna go with 5w30 Royal Purple. What oil filter would you recommend? Again thanks!

More stickies: http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?42763-Conventional-Oil-Filters

On my MKIV's, I use Royal Purple 5w30 synthetic with a Purolator Pure One filter. I change the filter every 4,000 miles and the oil every 8,000 with samples sent to Blackstone Labs at every change for testing.

To give you an idea of what comes out of an oil test like like this, take a look here:

http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?66757-Oil-Analysis-Post-your-VOA-and-UOA-Here

(My hardtop MKIV currently has 189,000+ miles on it and test results are excellent. The 1st post in that thread is about the same car, 4 years and 30K+ miles ago.)

Jdub will tell you that Royal Purple is too expensive for what it is, but otherwise an excellent oil. I choose it specifically because it's freely available at many places, where Redline and German Castrol are somewhat harder to come by where I live, and AMSOil is just too expensive and I don't like dealing with people who market via MLM plans. So I use RP because I'm just willing to pay the price for the convenience of being able to get it easily. Any of the above oils is an excellent choice in that weight range.

In addition, read Motor Oil 101 located in mys sig. Basically you want the lowest cold viscosity you can get in an oil.
I'll tell ya, most guys on Supraforums (that don't come here) are clueless about motor oil.

I like Wix filters - Purolator One is also excellent. Read the stickie this section for more info on filters.

Hey, if it works... ;)
Bang for the buck, German Castrol (Castrol European Formula - says "Made in Germany" on the back label) is hard to beat. It only comes in 0W-30 and has excellent cold AND hot viscosity characteristics - it will perform well in a 2JZ.
