Hello i have a question so any of the guys running a ffim on the 7m. did any of you use the stock throttle cable, or did you find it was to short and end up using one from another car?

I have built my own ffim over the past while and have found that the throttle cable is to short to reach the new TB i have put on. If anyone can help me by letting me know what they did or what cable they used would be so helpful.

I see that the few other guys who see build and sell the ffim, drop down bracket and it all as a group deal that they use a different throttle cable and just curious if they can lend a hand by pointing me in the right direction.

thanks for the help

Aaron

Depending on how far forward the TB is, you can use a throttle cable from a mid-90's camry. It's the same cable, just longer.

Mine is really far forward, in the area where the stock battery is, so I ended up making a Z32 300ZX cable fit the firewall mount and used that.

I figured it had to be from the v6, thankfully i work at a toyota dealer so i can measure the best fit from a few different models.
Has anyone else used the 75mm mustang tb on their ffim before? if so what did your throttle cable set up look like? I know most people use the Q45 i believe ?

how did you design that intake manifold bc i have the material for making one but dont kno 1 think about welding it together lol

I just thought of a design i wanted/liked started working on it. I ordered the length of the plenum i needed and the flanges. I did everything but the welding: cutting of the runners making the holes in the plenum, notched the runners for the plenum to sit on, rounded the runners and had had it welded together by a friend of a friend who did an amazing job I am very happy with his work!

Heres a quick few pics of how i went about it :
