ok this one is going to be a big challenge..

i had a mechanic swap my 1jz in and apparently he didn't do a very good job.
i have some hydro fan problems, the fan runs on low speeds all the time. i found out that i never had a hydro fan ecu. i found this instead.

thats right.. thats the hydro fan ecu male connector and a female connector together. where is the hydro fan ecu!? and why are only pins 4 and 10 connected ? where do these wires lead? BACK INTO THE BODY HARNESS. :3d_frown: pin 4 is the oil press control valve, and pin 10 is the water temp sensor, but the thing is.. there is no water temp sensor wire plugged into the water temp sensor itself. so what is this mystery connector? i dont know, maybe one of you could help me out.

more pictures of the mystery connector

pins 4&10.. why?

its not perfect yet, it plugs in nicely but im not sure it will work. no water temp sensor is plugged in, and i cant find the water temp sensor harness anywhere in sight ( does anyone know where it is?) what is going to happen to the mystery connector?

i have been looking around the threads and i see a lot of hydro fan ecus having this extention harness.

why? does this have anything to do with my mystery connector?

i need halp

ok so i have been looking around, it looks like that blue extension harness is mandatory.

Its not, I've ran one before without it, works fine, Its just to give it enough room to mount in its spot in the dash.

Jason,
That plug in the first picture is not the one for the Hydrofan.
as tissimo said, no need for the extension. ONce you plug in the ecu, the fan speed increases and you will know for sure. it will blow hard and be louder. Im running mine without a radiator temp sensor and it has given no problems at all.

ok great, ill give it a try when i start he car. i was just wondering what that mystery plug was. it was plugged into the hydro fan connector when i found it. i guess ill have to locate where the wires lead to.

thanks

Those two wires o that mystrey plug are for your power steering - pps as the color matches.

why would they be plugged into my hydro fan ecu connector?

it looks like my mechanic used old wires and played a game of mix and match. im looking at the diagram right now and it looks like he didn't know that there was a fan ecu and i guess tried to jump it to keep it on high at all times. i had a really bad overheating issue because it was not installed correctly, one of many reasons why my car is not working atm. =\
