I bought a CIRUS vest back in DEC 06, before I came back in. It cost a butt load for the vest and soft armor, but it is by far the best investment I've ever made. It makes the IOTV look like shit, it's very comfortable. The best the about it, it has an NSN, so it will be worn when I deploy next year. :naughty:

The nomex top isn't 'issue', merely a fringe benefit from being in the Army's test company. It's mine

Very cool. Wanna share that NSN? Shoot me a PM if ya would! From what I understand the IOTV still weighs the same as an OTV, just the weight is taken off the shoulders and moved to the waist area. I don't see the point. Whatever, I'll be getting one soon.

If I was to buy that vest, or any other plate carrier, I'd just buy basic police issue ballistic soft armor, wear the ballistics under the acu top and then the Cirus vest. Range of motion will be way more superior than any issue armor. I'm going to have to have a talk with our supply NCO :naughty:

On another note, it always irks me when soldiers die from anything other than combat.. sorry to hear that.

Just for shits and giggles id love to take one of those little motorbikes and go over a doubles jump.Growing up my older brother used to have a ct90 postie bike and we used to see how high we could jump that, hurt to land though.lol.
