Hey guys, new to the forum here. Just bought a 1988 Supra Turbo Targa. It needs a manifold gasket replaced. Now my question is is what all parts need to come off to get to it and what all gaskets am I going to need from the dealer. I know the manifold gasket itself, turbo to manifold gasket. Is there a how to type deal somewhere to assist me?

TSRM is a great place to start...

Like how to remove your turbo, step by step.

Hunt around and you'll find great parts diagrams, too... With schematics of the gaskets you'll want to get.

If you run into problems, ask away with this in mind:

Use lots of wd or better yet pb blaster on the exhaust manifold bolts so you can have a little more hope that the nut will come off the stud and your studs wont strip out of the head.

Its a common problem for our heads when they start getting soft for them to strip.

Driftmotion.com sells an entire kit with everything you need if they do strip.

Yeah, the bolts are looking a bit rusty, but the car only has 68,000 miles so I'm hoping that's gonna save me. I might start on it this weekend but most likely next weekend. I'll keep this updated with how it goes. Maybe I'll even write a how-to for future help to people.
