Hey guys I just got my new motor in my car. When you start it up the car goes right to 2000 rpm then will cut out go to 1600 then kicks back in and idles back up to 2000. then repeat. Bad tps?

Unplugging the ISC valve will result in similar idle problems (up and down between 1k or so and 2k or so), so I would check all your connections to your ISC (the wires have a tendency to break off at the back of the plug). Also, check that the ISC unit is making a clicking noise right after you turn the key off, that generally indicates that it is working.

So after searching all data for some test procedures I found this.

Disconnect throttle position sensor wire connector.
Using suitable ohmmeter and feeler gauge inserted between throttle lever and stop screw, take the following resistance measurements:
A With throttle closed, measure between terminals VTA and E2, Fig. 73. Resistance should be 0.3---6.3 kilo ohms.
B With throttle lever and stop clearance of 0.0157 inch (.40 mm) on 7M-GE engines or 0.0197 inch (.50 mm) on 7M-GTE engines, measure between IDL and E2. Resistance should be less than 2.3 kilo ohms.
C With throttle lever and stop clearance of 0.0295 inch (.75 mm) on 7M-GE engines or 0.0354 inch (.90 mm) on 7M-GTE engines, measure between IDL and E2. Resistance should be infinity.
D With throttle valve fully opened, measure between VTA and E2. Resistance should be 3.5---10.3 kilo ohms.
E With throttle valve in any position, measure between Vcc and E2. Resistance should be 4.25---8.25 kilo ohms.

For A I have 7.43 kilo ohms
For B i have 7.10 kilo ohms
For C I Have 6.85
For D my meter is going to OL
For E iam getting a solid 7.29 no change threw the full motion of throttle body.

If switch fails to operate as specified, adjust switch as follows:
Loosen switch attaching screws, then insert a 0.0228 inch (.58 mm) feeler gauge on 7M-GE engines or 0.0276 inch (.70 mm) feeler gauge on 7M-GTE engines, between throttle lever and stop screw.
Connect ohmmeter between IDL and E2 terminals.
Rotate switch clockwise until ohmmeter deflects.
Tighten attaching screws.
With throttle lever and stop clearance of 0.0157 inch (.40 mm) on 7M-GE engines or 0.0197 inch (.50 mm) on 7M-GTE engines, measure between IDL and E2. Continuity should exist.
With throttle lever and stop clearance of 0.0295 inch (.0295 mm) on 7M-GE engines or 0.0354 inch (.90 mm) on 7M-GTE engines, measure between IDL and E2. Continuity should not exist.
If switch fails to perform as indicated, switch is defective.

After adjusting doing what was stated above. Iam getting 6.03 ohms with the .90mm guage.

I installed a new tps and my idle is still erratic. Any Ideas?

check the tps plug and wires make sure there isnt any broken wires or connectors in the plug.
also is your car a auto or manual tranny. i believe the tps is different correct me if i am wrong
