First off, here's a list of things not working at the moment:

Fog lights
Tach
Passenger window switch (drivers still works for the passenger side)
tail light failure light is on
cig lighter wasnt working, but it was unplugged, didn't check to see if that fixed it but am assuming it did. there was also a black 2 wire harness that i couldn't figure out where it went, it was beside the emergency flasher switch.

so far i took the fog light switch apart. while i had it apart i plugged it back in and made the connection manually, the switch light wasn't turning on but i could hear the relay clicking. lights didn't turn on.

any ideas on these problems, could some/all be linked?

btw i bought the car as a shell and swapped in a 1jz.

Is your car a pre89? The two wire connector by the hazard switch is for the headlight sprayers which, I was under the impression, wasn't on 89+ MKIIIs.

Have you tried jumping the passenger side window's wires? Could just be a faulty switch. I just tore mine apart and cleaned the contacts with a green scotch pad and it's been fine for months now.

As for the rest, if I think on anything I'll post back.

Eh? What's that mean?

By the way, I don't think these problems are related. While they do share a common chassis ground, there are other items which would also be out... I suppose it is a possibility though. Have you checked the wire harness behind the dash for shorts or disconnected junctions?

Edit: The taillight failure indicator is most likely not related to the other problems though. Check the check all your taillights, check the sockets for oxidization. If they're all working and there is not oxidization on any of the contacts I'd try swapping out the indicator module. It's located under the driverside taillamp fixture. Either swap it out for a good one or bypass it. I can't recall how to bypass it, but I've seen the info on how to bypass it posted here before.

Have you tried measuring your chassis against the battery's neg. terminal with a multimeter? Any trouble with the battery loosing power?

A short in the dash harness is the only thing I can think of that *most* of your issues could have in common.

The window switch, I'd bet is due to faulty contacts. The tach, is it from a 1jz?

Taillight failure could be triggered by a faulty ground or just oxidized bulb sockets (ask me how I found that out ;) ).

Fog lights could be any of the following: Integration Relay #1, Fog light relay, Fog light switch

I'd look at the following pages for any common junctions and groundpoints:
