When does the Driftmotion 60-1/ .70AR turbo start to loose boost? I bought it to match my 264 cams, so I hope it'll stay at maximum boost until at least 7500rpm

PSI has a badass shop. I was there for my tuning with Reed. Didn't get a video, was having issues.

You guys not running meth with your set-ups? Stand alone, meth and more power on pump. :)

I'm thinking of doing meth when I go stand alone. I'm not sure what standalone I want though.

93 octane with roughly 18.5 lbs. It would spike to 19.5 lbs but drop down to 18 lbs. I just spoke with Spaniard on the phone and this is what he told me.

I'm impressed, the cams must really be getting it done.

What timing figures were used at peak torque and what did it ramp to? Does you have a sheet for it, I'd like to see when it started to choke out.

Duane, I won't be running meth for the time being, but it is on my list of parts to get. Yeah, PSI does have a kickass shop. I didn't even know my Supra did 400 RWHP until Mark told me to go on youtube (I was probably in the bathroom or something). With any luck I'll have John Reed tune my Supra.

Tissimo, it's not all the cams. This turbo is very badass. IDK what timing figures Jonathan had on his friends Supra, but with mine I can tell you the timing wasn't messed with since I still have the stock timing gears.

It all depends on what your supporting mods are. Every setup will be different. Why 7500 RPM's?

7500rpm seemed like a good guess for me. 264 cams change the powerband so you reach maximum horsepower around there, correct? I just want the turbo to stay at maximum efficiency until then.

The turbo is very basic 30 year old tech (probably older), nothing special at all.

The question was for Jonathan, but how much power did you make with yours (60-1 1jz right)?

264 cams seem to peak ~ 7000-7200 peak power.

I made 400 RWHP and 347 RWTQ on my 1JZ. Mind you this was with an SAFC NEO and 440's and the stock JZA70 ECU. I'm going ViPEC V88 standalone with Bosch 750cc high impedance injectors and top feed fuel rail now.

how much boost?

ID750s?

Did you upgrade the springs and retainers when you put in your cams? Or are they stock with just the cams upgraded (like mine are)?

Yup, I've got the full set of Brian Crower springs and retainers.

OK, then maybe you can go to higher RPM's.

Yup. I rev'd out to 8.8k on my 1JZ with the right hardware. Completely do-able when the 1JZ does 8k all day on stock valvetrain. And yes, my engine was making power till that mark.

Ok, and 1 more question. How fast does it spool up? How does it compare to the stock twins in spool time? Reason I ask is because it would be going on a drift car and would like it to be responsive. Thanks for all the info :)

The spool is pretty quick, although not stock twins quick. IIRC full spool on my setup was around 3500. For drifting you could change the hot side to the .58 for quicker spool. Keep the .58 for drifting and the .70 for street driving. The stock twins have almost zero lag time, and the only way you'll ever get that kind of lag is from twin turbos or a small single.
