Hi

I’ll change the dif of my supra, but I don’t know if I need to remove the rear axle hubs to remove the dif?

Because in the TSRM only describe to unbolt all screws, but today morning I check it, and I don’t know how to remove the rear drive shaft to remove the dif :aigo:

tks and regards.

i believe if you unbolt the drive shaft from the frame and unbolt or lower the trans mount you should be able to remove it but dont qoute me on this as i have not tried it this way

You remove the bolts that hold the axle to the diff. Then take a pry bar and push the axle off the diff. It will not take a lot of pressure to separate the axle from the diff, so make sure all of the bolts are off.

Depending on if your car is pre 89 or post 89, there's a brace on the post 89s that makes removing the axles quite difficult. a couple bolts and it comes out easily though. I did the whole diff swap in one day, and might do it again.. I want 3.73s, and a better functioning LSD
