I purchased a JDM 7M-GTE and R154 for my celica project.
It did not have a speedometer cable, instead it has the electronic sensor that was for the digital dash. If it matters.... My friend and fellow member of supramania (7MGTESUPRAPAT) told me that he thought the engine and trans were out of a 1992 by looking at the shift knob.
I looked at my celica speedo cable and it should work perfectly with the R154 which is good.... BUT, the tach will not work along with many of the other gauges, so I was wondering....
It is possible to use the signal from the sensor to operate an aftermarket speedometer??
And is this sensor worth much if I were to sell it?
The trans on the left is my stock celica W50. The trans on the right is my R154, if you look closely you can see part of the sensor where the normal speedometer cable would go.
