Differences between Aristo R154 and MK3 R154 tranny?

Im swapping an Aristo 2jz into my Supra MK3. I purchased an Aristo front clip which already had a 1j bellhousing and 5-speed R154 tranny conversion which I believe came from a Soarer. This Soarer/Aristo R154 is a bit longer and different from the Supra MK3 R154 (top mounted shifter).

Should I just buy a used Supra MK3 R154 or can this Soarer/Aristo R154 tranny be converted to fit my 2jzmk3??? What will I need to do? Any help would be greatly appreciated...:1zhelp:

Sell the Soarer R154 to a MK4 or SC guy and buy a Supra R154.

Don't hack up a Soarer R154 to fit in a Supra. Some MK4/SC guy will be able to put it to good use! and pay you good money for it probably.

You can find Supra R154s all day long.

You can get 800-1200 for that tranny.
You should check out clubna-t.com
You'll find someone there I am sure.
Keep your bellhousing, clutch & flywheel cuz you'll need it.

Please dont ruin that tranny it is verry rare you can buy 2-3 supra low milage R154s for that trany right now there is a guy on SF desperate for one he is even looking for that custom hack job where someone added a bar and extended the top of the shifter housing costing days of work and hundreds in time and effort and probley wont be really as good as a factory one dont destroy it sell it for 1500.

I guarantee you can have that soarer R154 sold within 10 mins of putting it forsale for at least $1000, probably more on clubnat/clublexus/supraforums. There is probably a 1 year waiting list for one among the SC crowd.

the transmission must have come out of a soarer/Mark II/cresta/chaser. EXTREMELY rare even in Japan.

Dont bother selling it for 1000.
Most SC guys would give there left nut or first born to have that tranny its Gold!
