Diff/case Upgrades?

I've been trying to do as much research on our diff as possible lately. I'm looking at any possibilities of upgrading the factory mk3 diff/case. I see that the mk4 diff gets a substantial strength increase by using a billet diff cover. Would something similar to this help the mk3 case?

I know the size of the gears is the largest draw back to this diff, but I'm looking at any avenue I can to try and beef up the case/diff itself. The car is making close to 1K HP now, and we are starting to prep it for the track. Looking for an 8 second pass, but I have my reservations that this diff will hold behind that kind of HP, and hard launches off the trans brake.

Hoping guys like IJ, will chime in with any suggestions.

Yes, I knew he had a 9", I was actually contemplating doing a 9" IRS setup. Its just a ton of work that im not sure im willing to do at this point. The reason I was hoping he would comment was because he has a mechanical incite that most ppl don't. That and also being a machinist he has a view on things that most ppl will never see.
