Okay I took another look over my block, I had noticed this before but now its bugging me, The bent rod must have hit the very bottom of the Cyl wall on #1.

I have a tiny chunk of cyl wall missing, not big, rises about a 1/2" from the very bottom of the wall.

Will the piston rings at bottom dead center hit this, or even come near it?

or ask in another way..

How far from the bottom of the cyl wall do the piston rings get.

I can take pics and have them up tomorrow too.

I would think this is not going to be an issue. I mean that would be an incredibly long stroke for it to go that far down in the cyl. but hey I dont know, and I didnt check before I dissasembled everything.

Thanks guys.

just throw a piston/rod in it and crank it till it comes down, unless you dont have the block pulled.. or the oil pan rather :p

Block is in pieces atm.

crank out everything, ditched the bearings and all so test fitting wouldn't be an option.

Ill measure it like stated, whats the piston to deck height at TDC on these anyway? Ill measure stroke from that down and see if its close.
