Does anyone know the range of how much replacing a head gasket will cost?

book time is about 10-12 hrs at shop rates(1000-1500$)+-,

a good supra owner can do it in about 5 hrs labor plus parts... i did mine for about the cost of the head set ($250)and to have my valves lapped and valve guide seals installed and valves adjusted.(60$).... and the head surfaced, ($75)

but i also did water pump and timing belt while i was there.. again time and parts extra.

BS! these cars never blow head gaskets... :D:D:D

BTW: I agree with Joel... Depending on the shop, anywhere from $1000 and up... Then add in the cost of a metal HG and ARP head bolts or studs... You'll also need a gasket set for all the other gaskets you'll hafta replace when you do a HG swap... *intake gasket, exhaust, tb, and the other hundred or so gaskets, lol*

GL with yur hg...

if youre going with a MHG and the block will have to be surfaced, pull the motor your self and bring it to the shop your self, save lots of money.
