just got finished building my motor.

Now i have to fill up the rad once in a while.
no visual coolant leaks.

However, i took off the crank case going to the intake pipe and there is a little bit of coolant there.
also, a little bit of junk under the oil cap.
now this motor has 1200km on it.

headgasket is a cometic with all the rivets removed (suggested by my motor builder), the head was drilled for a coolant passage near the # 6 to keep the temps down.

it was also torqued down to 106ftlbs.

any suggestions?
i plan on doing a compression test tomorrow, and test the coolant for and exhaust gases.

really annoying problem especially since it was just built.

ya man
its pissing me off.
i'm gonna retorque the headgasket this week, and check the coolant fluids.

Hopefully its nothing crazzzyyy.

no never retorqued the motor yet.
i think i might have to.

turbo is a gt76dbb turbo, only running 10 psi.

yeah - by over-torquing there is a good chance you are causing the head to deform, allowing these little leaks to occur.

I would start there first (because its a known problem)

cool
thanks man

i just went out boosting for a bit, blow off the damn ic pipe and it got ran over lol.
second time too.

gonna fix that first, then tackle the headgasket

retorqued it down to 90ftlbs.
the catch can seems to be filling up with coolant.

here are some more specs on the motor
the head was drilled for a new coolant passage near the # 6.
all rivets were removed from the headgasket.
The coolant line going to the intake mani seems to be a little wet.

the isc coolant tube connected to the isc broke off, perhaps it somehow is leaking into the intake mani?

the coolant in the catch can is pure coolant, no oil at all.

What does the engine oil look like, and likewise what does the coolant in the overflow look like?

looks like regular oil.
i'm gonna change it and the coolant and see how it goes.

its weird the compression results were perfect, no overheating.

never did it.
i think a leakdown test will tell me if the rings are bad, the car doesn't seem to be burning oil.

i'm thinking of pulling the head, and putting on a hks gasket.

probably have the head resurfaced if necessary.
it barely has 2000km on it

get new arp's you have probly streched them, i would not lower the torque at this point. Did you lap the head and block after the resurface? If not get a lapping plate. Also the cometic gasket is fine assuming the ra on the surfaces is correct.

no lapping on the block.
i will probably look into getting one, as well as a hks headgasket.
