I'm building on a budget and I have a few questions. Are the stock rod for a 89T forged and how would compare shot peened stock rods to eagle rods? What is the maxium hp which you would trust shot peened stock rods w/arp bolt.

Save a couple more dollers and buy some eagle rods from SIP (suprarich). He hooked me up with a great deal!!!

I guess it just depends on your goal for your car. Stock rods are fine for 550rwhp+ just prep them and you'll be fine. It's the pistons that tend to fail first as they take most of the abuse. I have stock pistons with Je pistons and they have been fine for over 4 years with 400rwhp+ and 15+ trips to the track and tons of abuse.

Now I have another motor that I'll be building up for 600rwhp, and I'll be using the titan je pistons with eagle rods.
