I no someone with a completely forged vr6, running 28 psi, and a AEM tuned by one of Utah's most reputable shops and only makes 450 hp

There's a couple vw's in my area that are pretty heavily modded and still slower than my DD. Which is a 5.7 hemi dodge magnum with bolt ons.....

Not that rotary powered monster... old beetles are completely excluded from the "silly VW's" group I speak of. Takes all of about 300hp to roll those things through a lazy 11 second quarter.

That said, I don't think I've ever seen one break into the 9's in person either. 10's all day long there and back, but never seen a 9 in person.

I mean, it is probably in a light enough car, but still... that must be a tiny turbo. Probably pretty quick considering though. 28 psi and only 450hp probably means tiny turbo, and tiny turbo usually means very quick to react, which is often more important than peak output.
