check engine light

my check engine light comes on as i go down the road but if stop and turn the car off the light goes off but might come on later plus my temp gauge is not working could this be the temp sensor or the thermostat.or mybe something else need some help.if u have any ideas. thanks :1zhelp:

If the check engine light comes on, the ECU is trying to tell you that something is wrong. Check the codes that the ECU gives you, and we can help you diagnose the problem if you need help.

i did a check for the codes if i read them right it was a 25 air fuel ratio lean malfuntion on 88 and later california models dont know what that means.but i do smell gas sometimes when i drive.any comments or suggestions would help thanks. :1zhelp::1zhelp:

|When marked variation is detected in engine revolutions for each cylinder during idle switch on and feedback condition.

You said your temp gauge did not work. Make sure all the sensors are connected correctly on that pic I posted in your other thread.
Also check AFM, O2.
