So i recently swapped my 4.10 diff for a 3.73. Now my speedo is off. What are my options for a w58 trans? I would assume toyota doesnt have any other gear sets for the trans since it only came paired with a 4.10.

Could i purchase a VDO speedometer or any other aftermarker speedometer and be able to calibrate it to work with the weird new ratio?

Im not 100 percent on this but if the 4.10 and 4.30 lsd were offered in a N/A supra and you want to keep the W58 you might need a R154 speedometer drive gear in the tranny. I'm also planning on rebuilding and swapping the diff since my 1J is drinking gas like theres a hole in the tank lol. I have a 4.30 LSD I havent checked if theres a speed difference yet, but im going to try and find out tomorow. I have the same feeling that my speedometer is readin slower actually cause 50 feels like 40

I know I have the 4.30 open diff with my 89 N/A that is equiped with the W58 tranny all stock. Planning on selling your diff?

But do the r154 drive gears fit in the w58 trans?

IJ do you have a link to this correction box? I found a couple of forums speaking about one, but they seem to find them locally.

The one I was using is a USA made part from the hotrod world, sorry don't have a brand name, I'll look in the shed today and see if I can find it and get the name.

how easy is a easy swap? i assume i'd need to remove the trans which means not a easy swap right?
