Car will now not start.

so i was workin on my car, trying to do the timing and at one point we tried to turn the car on and it wouldnt switch on, so we jumped it and worked realizing i jus had the radio playin all day so thats why it was turing on. and so i decided to take a lil drive around probaly about for a min behind my block and i pulled up and saw that it was smokin under the hood, and scary part is, my temp gauge was not working. i parked up and let it cool down and starting working on it the next day, i tried to start the car, it cranked it for second then it died. i tried to start it again and it wouldnt crank over and when i turned the ignition it would just click. i kno nothin is bent or messed up from driving it because i can still crank the motor a full rotation.

what could be the problem?? i frozen stuck on this, please help :1zhelp:

Sounds like a weak battery.
Question is- why was there smoke?
Was it from overheating? If so- why did it overheat?
Or was it something actually burning- if so, what?

battery is good, i switched it with another one and car still did not want to start
answer: theres was leak in a hose but fixed now, shouldnt smoke now i believe
dnt kno my temp sensor is out, need new connection

maybe the starter jus gave out??

and i believe the ignition timing was off. cam timing maybe off too

try that out and maybe check your battery terminals as those went out on me before if the starter is good.

might also be a bad alternator that didnt charge the battery
