Car stalls sometimes.

Ok, when I'm driving around the city and a red light pops up I usually just push in the clutch and coast to a stop. Three or four times today right before I come to a stop the car stalls. All the warning lights come on, the radio doesn't cut out so I don't think I am losing electric power. The engine just dies. Any ideas on what this could be?

does your car also idle really low? I had this problem and I just played with the idle screw.

No, not really. Sometimes when I drive around and bring the car up to temp. and shut it off for 20-30 mins., when I restart it then it will idle low.(200-500ish.) It will also rumble and shake. I don't think it is missing or any thing.

Any codes? Sounds to me like its your TPS. That or some kind of leak... Are you turbo'd?

^^^ There are details in the TSRM. It's mounted on the intake surge tank, has a harness with 4 wires connecting to it and has a hose (not vacuum line) running from the forward part of the TB to it.

Test it per the TSRM and pull it and clean out any crap that may be clogging it, the hose that feeds it and the TB port for that hose.

Too bad our days off don't match and you live on the opposite side of town from me... I'm going to be using my father's garage tomorrow to do a little work and I could help you get your problem diagnosed pretty quick.

That would be very nice, but as you said schedules are off. I work at a garage so I'm sure one of the older techs can help me if I get stuck. That is if we ever slow down long enough for me to bring my car in for a few.

You're working at a garage now? Where? When we met up weren't you working at a restaurant?

Working at a garage could be downright sweet... provided, as you mentioned, it ever gets slow enough to get some of your own work done.

The ISC is what the front throttle body coolant hose connects to.

ROFL! Must've been the heroin. :icon_razz Given the way my head works sometimes, I wouldn't be surprised if you told me Firestone and a crossed circuit swapped the tire company out for some unknown steak house!

hope that helps:icon_bigg

For some reason the pages are not working for me. I was thumbing through my TSRM and couldn't locate exactly how to check these so this helps alot. Thanks, I will try those pages tomorrow.
