Looks like I now have 2 cars that I have to do the Head Gaskets on :nono: . I recently picked up a 92 4Runner with a bad gasket for 2800 (found an identical one at a dealership for 7000) so I have nearly gotten it torn apart and it has been a pain. This morning, just after my wife and I leave for work, she calls me and says our 83 Cressida is running really bad. So she takes it home and I pick her up and drop her off at work. When we get home, I start it up and there is a bit of smoke coming from the valve cover and the Oil fill cap when I take it off. I shut off the engine and coolant is being spewed out of the overflow  . So, the only car I have running is the Supra  .

The thing of it is, I am trying to get the 4Runner running for my wife and I will drive the Cressida so I can do some upgrades to the Supra. It is an N/A and has been my daily driver for the better part of 8 years. It needs some body work and I was going to swap a turbo into it, then maybe drop the 7mge into the Cressida for fun. But I have to have the other 2 running before that :icon_frow .

Now for some facts. The 4Runner has such a bad headgasket, it has service campaign. Of course, it ran some time ago and is expired now. The Supra never fails. (well, the owners do)

The 4Runner has to have the 3.0 V6 and a certain production date, but you are right in there.

Yeah, I checked with Toyota already on the 4Runner and it was done in 2000. It looks like the head has some cracks in it as well. There is a crack going between the intake and exhaust valves for each cylinder on the drivers side head. I am still fighting with the exhaust so I have not gotten the other side off yet but that side runs ok and has good compression.
