OK guys so I am getting ready to order a t61 garrett/comp turbo from a fellow member on here and I am looking for the right cams to run for the best powerband on this setup...I have a built 7m now and am tuning for pump gas and a e85 setup I plan to put down 500 to 550whp reliably maybe 600 max!...any suggestions on the best cams to run for this?

I know I'm going to be running sip stg. 2 billet cams on a t66 on e85 @ 25 psi. I don't think youll be able to reach 600 whp on a t61. Look at a 6265 or 6265 if you want 550+ whp. The regrind cams that sip sells aren't to bad either.

I have TED 268 cams taken off a 800whp 7m for sale. PO told me they brought a 1000rpm quicker spool on a gt47
Less than 3000 miles on them.
Also the springs and shims

Stock cams are pretty much the best for a 57trim. It runs out of breath at 5500 so cant really use any sort of cam with it.

For the money spent on the aem and tuning alone plus cams is almost enough to do a 2jz swap.

Also revving to 7k with the ct is not good for the motor. Puts too much pressure on the motor not allowing the exhaust to flow.

yes i agree on the aem and tune costing as much as a 2j swap...thing is, i think someone will want to buy a 7m full swap that has a nice standalone and tune rather than one that isnt tuned and isnt exactly running to swell...that will be my dilemma is how much i get out of my 7m will determine what i can do ith the 2j swap :/...ill stick with stock cams as you said though thanks for the info on the ct26!

I think you are better off doing bowl work and the 1mm oversize valves. The cam accomidates the head, not the other way around. Yes, I know many do it the other way. They use a big cam to make up for a crappy flowing head.

anyone know if i would be better off staying stock cams or upgrading for my holset build up? gonna be pickin up a holset hy35 or he351 very soon and am looking for 500whp possibly 520whpish but these will rev higher than my ct26 so didn't know if i should upgrade the cams for higher powerband or not? they would have to make a difference than stock ones

I would up grade cams if your going to be at that power level. Also need cam gears and to get them dialed in and tuned.
