building 7m-ge to a turbo

I was thinking of getting stronger pistons & rods and puttin them in the 7m-ge. would it be a good idea or bad

I am planning to do this to my old motor as well and have the 7mgte turbo parts put on to the motor itself and get the electronics switched over when the time comes+tuning and fuel of course but in my case the bad has happened ive got a new motor and hoping it runs long enough for other plans good luck on ur Project

^^ X2... Agreed... Its not only cheaper, but it's alot more involved than just getting "stronger components."

If you're not a serious auto enthusiast/builder, then I would definately recommend just purchasing and dropping in a 7mgte... just make sure that you do your research and get all of the necessary components for the swap. Do a search, there are many posts explaining how to and what to do.
