Tips? Pointers? Resources?
It is a Garrett t-04E I think.
Many thanks, Mark
A/R .60 BCC, the intake is 2.75" o.d., 2.375" i.d., the impeller o.d. measures 2.9375", the shaft measures 0.25" diameter
the hot side is stamped A/R .70 M 3 G 1, the impeller o.d. measures 2.9375" also, standard T4 flange, and it has a 3" v-band connection

It's a piston ring not a seal.

And it's easy, but you will need to rebalance it, or it's common practice to. Better off rebuilding it IMO

not many hours on this thing, I was hoping I could just replace the ring but now with more research it looks like I would be essentially rebuilding it anyway. Don't really want to dump another $500 to get it built again. I have all the necessary tools just haven't done it before, maybe I could find a shop in town that would balance for me if I rebuild it.

I agree, I was in for $700 getting mine professionally rebuilt....in retrospect should have just traded it in for another 57-trim (this one already was upgraded), but I needed it fast and so I got it done locally over a couple days rather than shipping back and forth.

I tend to roast them every year or two, let's see if an Albert rebuild lasts that long... no, seriously I need to dial it back a bit, I'm always pushing these things too hard. This one has been at 1.4-1.5 bar for a year and a half. Love this turbo...

If the shaft is snapped, price will obviously be more
Yeah, I counted on that but I was wrong although there is some damage, shaft is ok, you have PM. Shoot me a price
