Bearing cap Torque "Q"

My frustrating Question is that PER the T.S.R.M the bearing cap Torque is 47LBS.It states that you need to make several passes when tightening the cap bolts.can somebody give me an idea on a good strategic tightening sequence due to I don't want to mess up at this point....PLEASE ?

I think I just answered my Question.I should use a socket wrench to tighten both nuts equally.Then with the torque wrench finish tighten them to 47lbs rite?????

Yes, just tighten them down with a socket and pull in three stages to 47 pounds.

Forgive me but what would the 3 stage numbers be??

Just 3 even passes until you reach the torque spec..

As an example lets say the final torque spec is 90ft lbs.. Torque in 3 sequences (30-60-90)

Split it up. 15, 15 and 17.

That would mean 15ft/lbs, 30ft/lbs and then 47ft/lbs.
