hey now. i have a dilema. which cams should i get? i know the 272s take much more tuning to get dialed in but its gotta be worth the top end gain. is there also a large loss in vacuum with the 272s? how off is the idle? lope doesn't concern me- its badass. ive just heard a lot of people say go for 264s, you'll be fine, 272's are not street friendly. so i figure i would hear what some other people have to say. by the way my valvetrain is already beafed up, bored .040, forged,..... thanks for the input.

There was an exellent HKS cam compairo on supra forums , but it was on a 2jz , of course ( i can't find it now ) .The 264's won hands down and matched the hks published data very closely .

I remember that comparison. The 264's did not lose any low or midrange power compared to stock cams and had nice gai ns at high RPM. The 272's however lost some low and mid-range power. They did make more peak power than the 264's, but that wasn't until very high rpm.

So much more to a cam than just the advertized duration. why is everyone all of a sudden only refuring to any cam by its Duration? 272 this and 272 that, it means nothing. You can have a 7.5mm lift 272 duration or a 13mm 272 duration. Duration is not the only spec on a cam guys!
