I tried installing the tranny tonight, but was only able to get the bottom 3-4 bolts in while the top of the tranny housing seemed unwilling to get closer to the back of the engine. Is this normal? What could be holding it up like this? It's like it's not popping in place, although I don't think it should pop in place heh. I'm pretty sure the torque converter was pushed in as far as it would go.
Any ideas welcome.

you can put the torque converter on but it doesnt mean you put it on right.. if you dont put it on right it will stick out a bit. dont force it too hard or you'll start breaking the tranny braces to the engine or worse break your bellhousing...

read the TSRM there is a right way to put it on, once its on right everything is... well not easy since the top bolts are super fun to get to but easier :)

More danger of breaking the Sintered Pump rotor in the trans.....

There are 3 sets of splines that need to engage fully, the TC should just about bottom out onto the front of the trans when installed right.
