I'm impressed with the engine bay paint, came out nice! Also lovin' the harness, where did you get the wire re-loom? Jeg's?

I got the loom from summit racing.

Thanks for the compliments guys! Working late nights on the car this week...should have the engine in by the weekend! Currently plumbing the oil system. More pictures to come!

Wirecare.com is an awesome site too for harness supplies.

I'll have to check them out next time I'm doing wiring work. I know that loom from summit was not cheap...

Hmm, I was hoping this turbo would clear the hood. Obviously not...

Oh well, it RUNS and MOVES under its own power now!!

What are you going to do about the turbo/hood clearance? Cut it? CF maybe?

Car sounds real healthy, job well done! I bet you're excited haha.

I really need to just drive it this year, so for now I think I'm going to get a junk hood and cut it/paint it. Next year I'll worry about it more. In the end I'd like to get one molded to fit around the turbo, but that's a lot of $$. Oh, and yes I'm super excited :)

Nice job! I missed this thread entirely. I do have an observation. I didn't see you post any pictures of it. Did you have the rear timing belt alu cover machined with the block? This is done so they align with the block's deck and your HG sits and seals properly. I really hope you did now since the car is even running!!!

Thanks! I told the machine shop to machine the timing case with the block, but they gave me some bullshit reason that they couldn't do it (in other words they forgot). I sanded it down myself, and took a precision straight edge to the deck surface to make sure it was low enough not to interfere. I used a full bead of sealant to make sure it didn't leak.

Still working out some kinks, but in the meantime here is a time-lapse vid of the build:

Nothing real special yet, but here is some part throttle boosting. I need to get it tuned, but that will probably happen in the spring.
