I was doing a little research trying to see if there where any other threads about Spal fans. I couldn't find anything that would answer my questions. So my question is, how many people are running these? Are they any better than the competion? What is there rated CFM at operating amperage and voltage? What CFM would be good? I know some of these are more of a personal opinion.

Dont quote me but I believe those fans are 2500cfm. Oh and by the way your stock mechanical clutch type fan will cool your car better than electric fans ever will.

there ok... but you HAVE to buy the controller for them... i have them wired up to a switch, and lets just say i've had a few times when that controller would have saved me.... its all preference though... my next setup im doing is doing to have one pusher, and maybe one puller...

e-fan > clutch fan

and the clutch fan is only effective if you have a shroud with it...

Of course, why would you have one without a shroud? I hope you didn't find this out the hard way.

My opinion is that it depends on what you plan to do with the car. If you're going for high power then I think you should stay with the GTE fan and possibly use e-fans as supplementary if necessary. If not then e-fans could work for aesthetics purposes and DD/lower power usage.

in all honesty, i've used my fans... 10 times in the last 8 months... haha... you only need the fan if you sit in traffic for more than 30mins at a time... i can drive around town all day, easy, or hard, and i dont have to use my ONE e-fan... now, im n/a and dont have anything else in the way... but still..

and you wouldnt believe how many supras i've gone to look at to buy that DONT have the fan shroud... luckily for me, my 90 came with a BRAND NEW OEM one in the back seat :icon_bigg

Ford Contour or Ford taurus fans for the win hands down. Save yurself some money and get wht works. I traded my contour fans for a taurus fan to accomodate FFI pipes. This gave me the space to put the pipes in front of the motor. These fans ROCK! ahemm....$60.00.

My stock fan doesn't have a shroud and I had no issues with overheating. Only reason I was asking because I guy i work with was talking about there one of if not the best fan out there. He was planning to put one on his 455 firebird.

A have Flex-a-Lite fans. Currently my SPAL fan controller is not always kicking the fans up to high speed and I keep overheating after driving in traffic for a half hour. I'm considering going back to the mechanical clutch fan.

it just makes it more efficent... thats all...

and i love my spal fans, i just want one big single though... i dont see the point of two small ones...

Any idea on what size a single fan would fit on a stock radiator?

i have no fan shroud ...... qwikstrike what about a set of maxima fans i have set just setting here

I have heard the Maxima fansare good. The Taurus fans has its own type of shroud. I staaaaaaaayyyyyyyy coooooool, and the fan comes on by a temperature switch when it's a certain temp only.

I have a elc fan i got from summit in a custom shroud hooked up to a temp sensor and relay. It's been installed for over 2 years with no overheating issues. It also has a PWR radiator too so that helps.

I had a mfg bend it up for me and powder coat it. It took awhile to get the design right, but I think it worked out for the best. Thanks for the kudo's.

If you dont mind me asking how much did that setup cost ya?
