Anyone ever use a fumoto valve?

Just wondering if anyone has used one and know whch model will work on the mkIII (1JZ). Seems like a cheap solution for quick oil changes. Is it a big con that you dont remove the plug alll the way possibly not letting out any particles that would normally come out with plug removal?

jdub and a few others use something very similar...and the way the pan is designed all said particles won't all come out even with the regular drain so I would stress about it...

The Areoquip is more expensive ($38 at Summit vs $21 for the Fumoto) to do basically the same thing. But hey, whatever blows your skirt Nash.

I'm using the Futomo on all my cars works great and is very easy to use. I've even had one dragged across a dirt berm with no damage to the pan or the valve...had to clean the dirt out though ;)

Here's the write-up I did on it:

Can anyone verify that the 18mm one is the plug to get for a 1JZGTE?

Or what size or p/n is needed for a 1J? It's about time for me to do an oil change and would like to install this when I do.

1.)Scrape a speed bump
2.)Open valve
3.)Empty oil
4.)Rod knock
No i would feel sceptical using it

You'll hit other things first...especially over a speedbump as the drain plug is lined up with the tires... (in other words, you'd be sitting on the frame first). If you hit something hard enough to remove the valve, it would rip off the stock drainplug or put a hole in the oil pan...
