well my stock muffler is old and dirty and i want to replace it with something cheap.. i was thinking are any of these ebay mufflers any good? or should i just stay with the stock for now...

OK.....i bought my car and it had a DIY Bolt on thing....I hate it and sounds like poop until the car warms up....mines loud with the cat on and can get annoying....:[ gives you a super ricer sound...

get a name brand one or somthing close that can be welded on.

Why replace the muffler? Replace the whole exhaust if you're gonna do that, or at least replace the muffler with a quality one, not some cheap e-bay stuff.

My first attempt at exhaust modification was remove stock resonator and muffler, install a glass pack and resonator tip. Ouch...
My second attempt was a Flow master with no resonator. Still sucked(loud and raspy).
My latest exhaust still isn't perfect, but it's getting there. Put a 24" glass pack where the stock resonator should be, 2.5" pipe to a 2 chamber Flowmaster at the back. Nice, deep tone at idle, no nasty, pissed off weed eater rasp at w.o.t., and a very mellow tone, with no drone, at cruising speeds. Quieter than most modified exhausts. A lot of my domestic car friends like it, as well. Say it sounds pretty good, for an import.
