I think there was someone here who swapped a twin charged 7m into a pickup like that. If you search it should come up I would think.

Oh yeah I think I saw that. A supercharger and turbo. I have 3 7mgte engines and one r154 trans. I got them for $1800 which is not bad for me. So doing the swap to my truck which had the piece of crap 3vze.

ive done two of them. first the one in my 90 extended cab with a stock 7mgte then in my buddies regular cab i think its a 94 with a built motor, air to water, 58mm, and external wg setup. a short summary is that if you want to do it body lift the truck. i bought a parts truck when i did my that had 3" body lift and i cut the spacers in half so its a 1.5" lift and it made everything soooooooooooooooo much easier. on my buddies truck is more of a low street type truck so he didn't want a body lift and it made thing way more of a pita and more difficult. had to smash the shit outta the fire wall. cut the trans tunnel and make it taller and wider. the supra radiator wouldnt work on it. it was pretty extensive compare to mine that just bolted right up beside clearancing the oil pan to clear the steering linkage which had to be done on both. and we both had a 22re chassie so the 5m motor mounts are what we used to mount it. i made a thread about it if you search for threads i started you can check it out. all in all though its a fun little truck and the extra hp is really nice compared to the gutless 22re. was out at the river bar hitting some trails saturday and raced a modded duramax on the hw with dpf delete and all this shit and we raced from like 50 i was in 3rd and we were dead even and then pulled on him in 4th cause diesel have no top end hahahaa. he was like wtf!!!! and thats only on like 7lbs :D

Thanks guys you don't know how long I've been trying to post and talk to you guys. I registered in November 2014 and couldn't post or do anything till just now. I live on a tiny island in the pacific called Saipan. I was thinking to build the truck for street/strip. The 7mgte going in my truck has 48,000 miles on it and has arp head studs torqued down 90, cometic mhg, new gaskets, stock ct26, r154 transmission and clutcmasters clutch. Oh yeah and a 4.56 LSD rear. My goal is to be the fastest truck on island. So any info you can throw at me would be greatly appreciated. I also have a 1992 lexus sc400, 1995 ford mustang v6, 2007 mazda cx7 turbo, and 2005 yamaha vmax 1200.

Guys I ran into a little problem. I'm building the truck to be lowrider. I'm having trouble clearing the trans and the firewall. Should I bang the hell out of it, cut it or lift the truck about a one and half inches. It's driving me nuts.

like i said you have to modify the firewall and trans tunnel to leave the body stock height or do the body lift and save all the headach plus the radiator is easier along with other stuff i can't think of this second lol. with the 1.5" body lift like i did you dont have to extend anything. the filler neck is stretched a little but its fine. heres a pic of my buddys

Thanks for the advice. Here on island we don't really have a lot of things like you guys in the states it's either order it online or have it fabricated. Lol. Ii guess I'll just cut the firewall it's just freaking me out cause the ac system behind it and I don't want to damage anything. So I'll pull the whole dash and ac out and cut it up. I think me and your buddy have the same front end. 1995 4runner. Pretty sweet truck can't wait for mine to finish. How does the air/ water intercooler hold up? Is it better then the regular intercooler? I was thinking of doing it but here on island it gets hot as hell.

what engine mounts and mount brackets are you using? cause with the combination of the 22re stock rubber mounts plus the mk2 supra engine mount brackets the firewall shouldn't need to be cut. just hammered out. and its mainly by the bell housing. we actually drilled holes in the cab to get the top bell housing bolts in cause it was near impossible without. then the big issue is the trans hits the trans tunnel and you cant make the angel of the trans steeper or else the back the head wants to hit the firewall and the hood clearance could become an issue. then the problem after you get the trans in and engine in at a good spot if you have lowering blocks on the axle when you accelerate or put a load in the truck the drive line rubs on the cab!!!! so you have to notch the cab out. its a huge pita compared to mine i just dropped it in and didnt have to do anything to the cab. and its easy to work on cause all the space behind the head and bell housing. and non of our trucks have ac but i bet the body lift would make that easier too. making it a low street truck is much more difficult.

and yeah he as the 95 4runner front end looks good. the air/water intercooler has worked well and mainly the lack of space for a front mount and the 10 miles of intercooler piping it would take made it a much better option. and has better response cause the small amount of piping.

I'm using mk2 engine mounts and 22r rubber mounts. The thing is the part where the rubber mount bolts to on the chassis I cut out and moved it back about two inches. I guess that's what messed me up. So when the engine is mounted the it's a little high and I need about 1 1/2 to two inches lower for the trans to go in. I'll post some picks later cause the data on my phone sucks.
