Hey guys,
I have another n00b question for you guys. My friend is looking at a supra. Unfortunately it doesnt have a working speedometer.(go figure, thats 2 now) Anyways they let me take it out for a test drive and on the highway at WOT. Heres the catch, there is no overheating and any clicking at 2500 rpm. Engine feels strong and apparently its had a metal head gasket done to it. Also I cannot tell for sure since the speedometer is out but I just checked a gear ratio to speed chart. I thought we were going pretty fast until I find out that 5750 rpm in 3rd gear is 134km....
Point is, how fast is one of these supras supposed to feel? It has air intake, and cat back exhaust. Keep in my that my other ride does 0-100km in 8.7 seconds and this didnt feel much faster. (not going to disclose wat it is LOL)
I just saw the other thread with the "fine" supra turbo that did an 18second 1/4mile....
Cant really drag race another person either.

it really should feel faster than your other car. an explanation for the lack of power could include many, many expensive, hard-to-replace things.

if it feels wrong, it probably is. in this case, it is probably best to trust your instincts. nevertheless, i reccommend leaving this vehicle. afterall, you'd rather error on the side of caution.

Thanks man, I know it is weak cuz there is no direct comparison. But at the same time it could be me. The supra is a lot more comfortable on the road then my ride. My ride has a real direct feel to it. Also driving someone else's car tends you to overhype it so thinking back now, Im not sure.

Ah well, its okay, its too apples and oranges. Anyways I definitely had that feeling of obtaining a new toy so I thought it was really fast hearing the turbo and shit kick in. I also "passed" this guy in third starting at 2000 rpm to show my bud how driveable this thing was. Then I calculated the gearing, turns out we were only going at about 50 km to start with, no biggie. Then I saw that other thread...
Reality has a way of slapping you in the face so...
Anyways thanks for the help guys!
