Adjustable Cam gears

I'm planning to rebuild my engine next moth and I'm curently gathering up the parts that I will need. my understanding is that a Maft Pro can be used to adjust the engine timing. I have a Maft Pro, so what I'm asking is, Is there a need for me to purchase adjustable cam gears as well. Since is can be done via the maft Pro.

You can adjust ignition timing with the maft not cam timing. 2 different things.

If your using stock cams, cam gears are kinda pointless.

I politely differ with this statement. :)

I was on the dyno this past October and gained a little bit of HP even more TQ by adjusting the intake Cam. I didn't have enough dyno time to get the Exhaust Cam adjusted.

This thread has great info and all results were from a 7MGTE w/stock cams. My results were VERY similar to the results on this page.

^All of that being said, you will absolutely see higher gains from tuning upgraded cams than you'll see from tuning stock cams.
