92 steering wheel in pre 89?

I can't stand steering wheels with a spoke in the bottom center because I like to put my hand there while driving and almost all aftermarket ones are like this as well and dont have cruise control on them.
I tried searching to no avail. Has anyone swapped a 92 steering wheel into a pre 89? (I have an 88)
I have a spare steering column from a 90na that I can hack up and modify if I have to.

I remember seeing a write up for this but it is basically plug and play. The air bag wont work, and you will have to mod the 4 pin connector for the horn and cruise control that the 92 wheel has because it is only 3 pins on the pre 89 wheel. I think all that was needed to be done was cutting one side out of the connector so it has room to slide in.

I guess there is more work involved if you want everything to work.

thanks. its a good start im sure I can figure out the wiring. I just want to make sure it will bolt up. only bad thing is that he doesnt mention air bag steering wheels, only non-air bag.
also wonder if the mr2 and supra steering wheels are the same?

Oh yeah. almost every toyota steering wheel will bolt right up. Wiring is the issue.

Ever scince I dod the 89+ steering wheel swap my horn hasnt worked, I even just swapped the 89+ signal stalks and everything....I just am to busy to take the time to fix it LOL, I can hear a relay clicking behind the dash when i push the horn button. Which wire is the horn wire?
